Portable Basketball Goals

The minimum acceptable operating standards for erection and/or placement of a portable basketball goal are as follows:

  1. All portable and Permanent goals must be approved by the Architectural Control Committee prior to placement.

  2. Portable and Permanent Goal must never be more than ten (10) feet in front of the most setback portion of the facade on houses with front loading or corner lot side loading garages.

  3. Houses with recessed garages may only place portable goals behind the front building set back line.

  4. Goal must never violate side building lines.  Permanent goals should be placed no further than sixteen (16") inches from driveway.

  5. All goal supports, backboards, rims and nets must be well maintained at all times.

  6. Permanent goals must be embedded in sufficient concrete to maintain the goal in a vertical position.

  7. Portable goals must be properly filled with sand or water.

The minimum construction specifications are as follows:

a.  Pole - Must be metal.  Creosoted posts are not acceptable.

b.  Backboard - Must be commercially manufactured out of materials which will not weather, warp or disintegrate.

c.  Color - Only a shooting square may be painted on the face of the backboard.  Logos, if any, shall not exceed 5% of the backboard area.

d.  Net - Must always be well maintained.
